Lately we have been suffering from a trouble, that is giving nightmares to -Wiseman-. In my opinion, we need an "unified" system to properly mark spoilers, and that system should meet these requirements, in my opinion:
1.- State clear that the content written in the post contain any spoiling text for any game, book, film or story which is subject of having parts that can be spoiled (I.E. "LFB spoilers", Kaoni really is not daughter of Xellos, and such)
2.- It Must be an EASY way to SKIP the content of the text that contain the spoiler.
3.- It must state CLEARLY which game, book story, are the spoilers of
4.- Must inform of WHAT kind of spoiler is, it is, "Light" from little reveals to "Heavy" or "Major" if it Spoils critical parts of the story we are speaking off.
At least, o think that those are critical points to mark a SPOILER clearly.
From This, we MUST get a "unified" way (it is, a way ALL granaboard posters should use) to mark properly spoilers, and Spoilers that didn't met it, would be moderated, the least, and other measures if needed.
Any suggestion?

Here is mine:
A post CAN'T contain Spoilers, either a post is a SPOILER itself, or the post can't contain that text.
THE POST MUST START BY THESE LINE IN BOLD
"[Light/Medium/Heavy] Spoilers For [insert the title here]"
(White spaces if needed at Wiseman's Request)
And the post only WILL contain the Spoiler

I don't think bold's necessary, just caps and a bunch of lines before and after the spoiler... we do't really need a system, just make sure that we put the spoiler warnings, no need to get too detailed.

Yeah, but i think that this way people will know how to mark their SPOILERS properly and to mark them ALWAYS.
Also is almost unavoidable to read a Spoiler when it is in the middle of a post, so, i think is better to mark them AT the begining, and that the post is ONLY the Spoiler. It is just an idea.

But then we'd end up osting 2x the posts needed, which would be laggier, especially when the spilers are usually a line or two. Its'd be too much space used, single pages would be long as all hell in topics w/lotsa spoilers! As long as we don't do things like tsi:
Yeah, your right. I agree that *spoiler* Kao's not my daughter *EoS*
They need ta be like:
Yeah, your right. I agree that
*LFB SPOILERS!!!*

Although I don't think it's necessary for it to be standard (nor I think people would follow the standard anyways), I'd suggest this syntax:
[<Non spoiling part>]
*[MINOR | MAJOR] <PRODUCT> SPOILERS*
[<Optional spoiler warning indicating the CD, chapter, part, or whatever>]
.
.
.
.
.
<Spoiling part>
[.
.
.
.
.
*EOS*
<Non spoiling part>]
Things between brackets are optional. '|' means OR. <X> means insert X here.
If no MAJOR | MINOR specified, medium-level spoilers are assumed.
Also, when the spoiling part is longer than say 10 lines, it should be quoted ([ quote ] ... [/ quote ]).
Finally, quoting spoiler blocks (*Type Item SPOILERS* ... *EOS*) is not allowed.
What do you think?

Mmm... a begining and an end for the Spoilers is a good idea. But to enhance the Visual effect, i think that Bold should be required.

On the ten line thing, I use 1400x1050, so I can't really tell how many lines it is for those on 800x600, 1024x768, and anything else like that. I agree though on no quuoting

5 lines are okay at 800x600
10 are too much even at 1024x768
so, i think that a balanced number of lines would be 7 or 8

What about quoting something that is longer than 15 lines (in case it's made of short lines, which count the same on any resolution) or larger than this 1024 byte block:
**
You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as gods You shall be as
**
(You can see this in your own screen resolution and count the lines yourself.)
Anyways, in case of doubt, I would suggest quoting, but I don't think quoting should be mandatory even if the post is huge.
